Log in with Google and Apple accounts

This document describes how to register or log in using your Google Account or Apple Account.

You can create or log in to your SocialDog account using "Sign in with Google" or "Sign in with Apple".

Overview​

By linking your SocialDog account with your Google or Apple Account in advance, you will be able to log in to SocialDog using your Google Account or Apple Account.

tip

When logging in with your Google or Apple Account, SocialDog's two-factor authentication will not be applied. To enhance security, please set up two-factor authentication on your Google or Apple Account.

New Registration using a Google Account or Apple Account (Creating a new SocialDog Account)​

  1. Open Create Account.
  2. Click "Continue with Google" or "Continue with Apple" and authenticate on the respective authentication screen.
tip

When you register with your Google Account or Apple Account, these accounts will be automatically linked with your SocialDog account.

Linking a Google Account or Apple Account to Your SocialDog Account​

To log in with your Google Account or Apple Account, you need to link them with SocialDog while logged in to SocialDog.

  1. Open Account settings → Security.
  2. Under Google or Apple, click [Link].
  3. Select the account you want to use for logging in. Authenticate on the respective authentication screen.
  4. Once completed, "[Linked]" will be displayed, and you will be able to log in with your Google or Apple Account.

Logging in with a Google or Apple Account​

  1. Open the Log in screen.
  2. Click "Continue with Google" or "Continue with Apple" and authenticate on the respective authentication screen.

Unlinking a Google Account or Apple Account​

  1. Open Account settings → Security.
  2. Under Google or Apple, click [Unlink].
tip

If a password has not been set, you cannot unlink all Google and Apple connections. If you wish to unlink all connections, please set a password in advance.

Changing Your Linked Google Account or Apple Account​

  1. Open Account settings → Security.
  2. Under Google or Apple, click [Unlink].
  3. Under Google or Apple, click [Link].
  4. Select the account you want to use for logging in. Authenticate on the respective authentication screen.
  5. Once completed, "[Linked]" will be displayed, and you will be able to log in with your Google or Apple Account.

Google One Tap (Automatic Login)​

Google One Tap login may be displayed depending on your browser's state.

In this case, selecting your Google Account allows you to log in with a single click.

Apple's Hide My Email​

If you select "Hide My Email" with your Apple Account, an email address like (random string)@privaterelay.appleid.com may be registered.

Emails sent to this address will be forwarded to your actual email address via Apple. If you cannot receive them, please check your Apple forwarding settings or spam filter settings.

If you see "You cannot register with this Apple Account."​

If you canceled a new registration for a SocialDog Account using your Apple Account, you need to unlink your Apple Account from SocialDog to use the same Apple Account.

  1. Open [Apple Account Sign-In & Security].
  2. Click [Sign in with Apple].
  3. Click [SocialDog].
  4. Select [Stop Using "Sign in with Apple"] and click [Stop Using].
  5. After completion, you will be able to register again using the same Apple Account from New Registration.

If you see "Verification could not be completed. Please try again." when logging in to your Apple Account​

Your login might be restricted because you performed login operations in a short period. Please wait for a while and try linking again.
