Enabling two-factor authentication enhances account security by requiring additional verification information in addition to your password when logging in.

Overview of Two-Factor Authentication

You can enhance your account security by enabling two-factor authentication.

When two-factor authentication is enabled, you will need to enter a one-time password to log in to SocialDog.

You can obtain a one-time password using your preferred app, such as Google Authenticator.

tip

SocialDog's two-factor authentication does not apply when logging in with a Google or Apple account. To enhance security, please set up two-factor authentication on your Google or Apple account.

Enable Two-Factor Authentication

  1. Open Account SettingsSecurity.
  2. Click [Enable] at the bottom right.
  3. Enter your SocialDog account password and click [Next].
  4. Install an authenticator app on your smartphone or other device.
  5. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app.
  6. Enter the 6-digit one-time password displayed in your authenticator app into the screen. → Two-factor authentication will be enabled.
  7. To store the backup codes, click [Download] or [Print] and keep the backup codes in a safe place.

If your authenticator app cannot read the QR code
  1. Hover over [If you can't scan].
  2. Manually enter the "Account name" and "Key" into your authenticator app.
  3. The account will be added to your authenticator app, and a 6-digit one-time password will be displayed.

Log in with an account that has two-factor authentication enabled

You can log in to an account with two-factor authentication enabled by following these steps:

  1. Access the login screen.
  2. Enter your email address and password, then click [Log in].
  3. Enter the 6-digit one-time password displayed in your authenticator app and click [Authenticate] to log in.
tip
  • If you cannot log in with two-factor authentication, please refer to Unable to log in to SocialDog.
  • When logging in with a Google or Apple account, SocialDog's two-factor authentication will not be required.

Disable Two-Factor Authentication

You can disable two-factor authentication by following these steps:

  1. Open Account SettingsSecurity.
  2. Click [Disable] at the bottom right.
  3. A confirmation screen will appear; click [Disable] to disable two-factor authentication.
