This document explains how to configure post content on the "Create Post" screen.

Check Post Previews (Browser version only)

On the right side of the "Create Post" screen, you will see post previews for both "Smartphone" and "Desktop".

Click the "Smartphone icon" or "Desktop icon" in the top right corner of the screen to switch between and view the respective previews.

About X Media Post Preview

Due to X (Twitter)'s image recognition, complex areas may be selected as thumbnails. Since SocialDog mechanically crops the center, the thumbnail display may differ from the actual post screen.

Select Destination Social Media Accounts

  • Select social media accounts from the top to choose your destination accounts.

Cross-posting to Multiple Social Media Accounts Simultaneously

  • You can select multiple social media destinations.
    • Only one X (Twitter) account can be selected. This is because X (Twitter) rules prohibit posting identical content to multiple accounts.
  • When multiple social media accounts are selected, a "Common" tab will appear.
    • You can input common post content for all accounts in the "Common" tab.
    • Content entered in the "Common" tab will be applied to all accounts.
  • To change post content for individual accounts:
    • Click on each account's tab to modify its post content.
    • If you change content in an individual account's tab, the content from the "Common" tab will no longer be applied, and a red dot icon will appear on the top right of the account's icon.
    • Click "Restore Common Content" to revert to applying the "Common" tab's content.

If there is an error in the post content

If there is an error in the text, image, or video content, a warning icon will appear on the social media account tab.

Posts cannot be published if they contain errors. Regardless of errors, content can be added to drafts.

Attach Media such as Images and Videos

You can attach and post media such as images and videos. Media can be attached using the following methods:

  • Click the "image icon"
  • Drag and drop images into the form
  • Paste images while the form is open, after copying them to the clipboard

For supported media formats, please refer to Postable Content.

Edit Images (PC Browser version only)

Simple image editing is available.

Resize Images

  1. Click [Edit] on the uploaded image.
  2. Select the desired crop size from the left side of the screen, adjust it, then click [Save] in the top right corner of the screen.

Add Text to Images

  1. Click [Edit] on the uploaded image.
  2. Click [A] on the left side of the screen to switch to the text input screen.
  3. Select the font, size, alignment, text color, background color, and line spacing, then position the text and click "Save".

Create Threads (X (Twitter), Threads)

If you want to split a post or if it exceeds the character limit, you can schedule multiple posts as a connected series in a thread format.

  1. Click [Add Destination] or [+] to add an X (Twitter) account or Instagram account as a destination.
  2. Click [+] in the bottom right corner of the text input field.
tip
  • Although multiple posts can be published in a thread format, you cannot change the post time for each individual thread.
  • Threads cannot be created in the "Common" tab of the post creation screen. Please create them from the X (Twitter) or Threads account tabs.

Plan-specific Restrictions

  • Number of scheduled posts in thread format that can be set simultaneously:
    • Free Plan: Up to 1 per social media account
    • Other Plans: Unlimited
  • Number of threads that can be added to a single scheduled post:
    • Maximum 50

Add a Poll (X (Twitter))

  1. Click [Add Destination] or [+] to add an X (Twitter) account as a destination.
  2. Click the [Poll] button. Poll button
  3. Enter answers (options) enclosed in double quotes. You can enter 2 to 4 answers.
  4. Set the poll duration. You can set it from 5 minutes to 7 days. Polls begin accepting votes from the time they are posted on X (Twitter).
  • Media cannot be included in polls.
  • Poll results cannot be viewed on SocialDog.

Set Accounts that can Reply (X (Twitter))

  1. Click [Add Destination] or [+] to add an X (Twitter) account as a destination.
  2. Click the [Accounts that can reply] (globe icon) button.
  3. Select from the following options for who can reply to your post:
    • Everyone
    • Accounts you follow
    • Verified accounts
    • Only accounts you @mentioned

Schedule Posts for Feed, Reels, and Stories (Instagram)

SocialDog allows you to schedule posts for Instagram Feed, Reels, and Stories.

  1. Click [Add Destination] to add one Instagram account as a destination.
  2. Select [Post] or [Stories]. For Reels, select "Post" and upload a single video.
  3. Attach an image or video. For Stories, you can post one media item (image or video).
tip
  • For image and video formats that can be posted to Stories, please check Postable Content.
  • If you post media with an aspect ratio different from the recommended (9:16), margins may be added or parts may be cropped on Instagram.

Tag People (Instagram)

You can tag people in Instagram Feed posts (images) or Reels posts (videos).

  1. Click [Add Destination] or [+] to add an Instagram account as a destination.
  2. Drag and drop the image you want to upload, or click the [Media (image icon)] button to select an image.
  3. Click the [Tag People (person icon)] button.
  4. Click on the location within the image where you want to tag.
  5. Enter the username you want to tag. On SocialDog, usernames to be tagged cannot be searched and added.
  6. Click the [Add Tag] button. You can click the [View on Instagram (screen transition icon)] button to confirm if the account name is correct. Up to 20 tags can be added.
  7. Click [Save].
tip

In Feed posts containing multiple media items, videos cannot be tagged.
