Announcement of Feature Restrictions for Paid Plans Following Twitter API Monetization

· 5 min read

For information regarding feature limitations of the Lite Plan (Free Plan), please refer to Previous Announcement.

We have decided to partially change the scope of feature limitations for Paid Plans from what was initially announced. As a result, users will experience additional feature limitations. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and kindly ask you to review them again (Added on May 30, 2023).

We have resumed providing Follower Management and Follower Analytics features (Added on June 8, 2023).

Thank you for always using SocialDog.

We would like to inform you that we have decided to limit some features available in SocialDog's Paid Plans, due to the monetization of the Twitter API.

We sincerely apologize for this sudden announcement to all our users.

Due to the extremely high cost of the Twitter API usage fees after its monetization, we decided to significantly restrict the features of the Lite Plan (Free Plan) starting May 16, 2023. However, upon a thorough review of SocialDog's Twitter API usage, it became clear that limiting features to the Lite Plan alone would not be sufficient to stay within the Twitter API usage limits. Therefore, we regret to inform you that we will also be limiting some features in our Paid Plans.

Moving forward, to meet your expectations, we will leverage the Enterprise API, which will become available through the Twitter API's monetization, to provide a more advanced and stable service than ever before. The Keyword Monitor, which is being significantly restricted this time, will be revamped into a system utilizing the Enterprise API. We plan to provide features for real-time post acquisition and notification, as well as the ability to search posts from the past 30 days.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.

  • *1 "Data Acquisition" retrieves post history, follows/followers, and @tweets. This includes data acquisition from Twitter automatically performed on the server, as well as the manual data acquisition feature accessible via the arrow button (Get latest data from Twitter) located at the top left of the SocialDog screen.
  • *2 "Pending Follow Request Display" is a feature within the follower management function that indicates whether a follow request has been sent to a private account. Sending follow requests will continue to be possible.
  • *3 "RSS Auto-Post Monthly Post Limit" refers to the maximum number of tweets that can be posted via RSS Auto-Posting within the most recent one-month period (Updated on June 8, 2023). This is a newly added limitation. If the "RSS Auto-Post Monthly Post Limit" is reached, tweets exceeding the limit will not be posted.
