To expand our features, we are discontinuing the conventional posting function, "Conventional Post," which was specialized for X (Twitter) posts, and transitioning to a new posting function, "Multi-Post," which allows simultaneous posting to multiple Social profiles.

Accordingly, effective June 1, 2025, Conventional Post will be progressively phased out for each team, with functions gradually restricted, and will be fully discontinued from August 1, 2025. Currently, due to a bug on X (Twitter)'s side, an issue is occurring where users logged into X (Twitter) cannot successfully complete the setup when attempting to "Add Social profile" in SocialDog.

If your X (Twitter) Account is frozen, you cannot link it. Please try linking after your Account is unfrozen.

If "This Social profile is linked to another team" is displayed and X (Twitter) linking fails, please check If 'This Social profile is linked to another team' is displayed and X (Twitter) linking fails.

If "This api.twitter.com page cannot be found" and the following screen is displayed, a one-hour lock will be applied, during which Social profile linking will not be possible. Please try linking your Account again after one hour.

• Cause: When entering your email address and Password on the X (Twitter) authentication screen, repeated authentication failures due to mismatch will result in a lock from X (Twitter).

Therefore, please try the following steps.

We are pleased to announce that SocialDog will release new pricing plans on November 27, 2023.

To make SocialDog an even more contributing product for your social media marketing, we have decided to release new pricing plans, considering the monetization of the X (Twitter) API and support for social media platforms other than X (Twitter).

With the new pricing plans, it will be easier to manage not only X (Twitter) Accounts but also Instagram Accounts and Facebook Pages together on SocialDog.

Hereafter, we will refer to the currently offered pricing plans as "current plans" and the new pricing plans as "new plans".

• The release of the new plans is scheduled for November 27, 2023. After the new plans are released, new subscriptions or plan changes will be for the new plans.
• For customers currently using current plans, we will transition you to the new plans from your billing date in late January 2024 onwards. Details regarding the transition to the new plans will be sent to you by email by mid-December.
• If you are on a monthly payment for a current plan, changing to Yearly payment by November 26, 2023, will allow you to continue using the current plan's pricing for one year after the change to Yearly payment.

About the New Plans​

Four Paid Plans to Choose From​

As of November 27, 2023, SocialDog will offer four paid plans: Personal plan, Professional plan, Business plan, and Enterprise plan.

Pricing Structure for Easier Centralized Management of Multiple Social profiles

With the new plans, the maximum social profiles that can be linked will be set for each plan.

This makes it easier to centrally manage multiple Social profiles on SocialDog.

Under the current plans, linking two Social profiles incurred fees for two Accounts. With the new plans, you will be able to link multiple Social profiles without additional charges.

Take this opportunity to link multiple Social profiles to SocialDog and make the most of them.

Only one X (Twitter) Account can be linked with Personal and Professional plans.

New Free plan for Instagram and Facebook Operations to Be Introduced​

A new free plan (Free plan) will be introduced to facilitate the operation of Instagram business Accounts and Facebook Pages.

You can link a total of two Instagram business Accounts and Facebook Pages. In addition to creating 10 scheduled Posts, Instagram business Accounts allow you to analyze Followers counts and post engagement for the past two weeks.

If you wish to link an X (Twitter) Account or view analysis data older than two weeks, please use a paid plan.

Other Changes​

• Instagram business Accounts and Facebook Pages will be counted towards the number of Social profiles linked to your team, just like X (Twitter) Accounts. Available Instagram and Facebook related features vary by plan.
• For the new Personal plan, the maximum number of scheduled Posts is "30", which will be the combined limit for scheduled Posts and Drafts across all Social profiles linked to the team.
• The new Business plan will allow you to use "Post engagement" similar to the current Business plan. However, the new Business plan only allows you to retrieve data for users who have Reposted (retweeted).
• If you wish to retrieve data for users who have given Likes, Replies, or quote-Posts (quote-tweets), please use the new Enterprise plan.

Other changes will also be implemented. For details, please refer to "Full Feature List".

[Important] Transition Schedule to New Plans​

We will transition to the new plans according to the following schedule:

• November 27, 2023: New subscriptions to current plans will cease, and it will become possible to subscribe to new plans. Additionally, Instagram and Facebook related features will become official versions and will only be available with new plans.
  • After this date, new subscriptions or plan changes for paid plans will be for the new plans.
  • If you wish to continue using Instagram and Facebook related features, please subscribe to a new plan.
  • Lite plan (free plan) customers will be transitioned to the new Free plan on November 27.
• By mid-December 2023: We will send details regarding the automatic transition to the new plans via email to customers using current plans.
  • We will notify you one month before the automatic transition begins.
• Billing date in late January 2024 onwards: You will be automatically transitioned from current plans to new plans.
  • From late January 2024 onwards, you can continue to use the features of your current plan until your billing date. The timing of the transition to new plans will vary depending on the billing date of your paid plan. Details regarding the automatic transition to new plans will be sent to you by email by mid-December.

In principle, the transition destination plans are expected to be: Lite+ plan (including current Pro plan (2016) and current Pro plan (2017)) to Personal plan, Pro plan to Professional plan, and Business plan to Business plan. However, this may vary depending on factors such as the maximum social profiles. Details will be sent to you by email by mid-December.

Background on New Plan Announcement​

SocialDog is now entering a new stage.

We have aimed to evolve SocialDog into an all-in-one platform for social media management by extending its support to social media platforms other than X (Twitter).

Since its founding in 2016, SocialDog has been provided as a dedicated service for X (Twitter). In line with this policy, we added support for Instagram and Facebook in September 2023.

Additionally, the X (Twitter) API was monetized in Spring 2023. The X (Twitter) API is a mechanism that allows external services to securely obtain and operate X (Twitter) Posts and Account information. SocialDog has utilized the API to provide over a million customers with the necessary features for X (Twitter) marketing at reasonable prices. Due to the increased cost of using the X (Twitter) API, it has become difficult to continue providing services at the current prices.

Given these circumstances, we regret to announce the new plans.

The new plans will feature a pricing structure that makes it easier to centrally manage multiple Social profiles on SocialDog. Moving forward, we will continue to add new features and improve existing ones to further assist your social media marketing.

Today, we have resumed providing the Keyword Monitor. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused our users.

With the new Keyword Monitor, you can retrieve tweets that match keywords from tweets posted within the last 30 days (excluding private tweets).

• Tweets are not retrieved automatically. You need to perform the operation at the timing you wish to retrieve them.
• The Keyword Monitor CSV file delivery service will be discontinued. Going forward, you can download CSV files directly from the SocialDog screen.

Features​

Search from Tweets within the Last 30 Days​

With the new Keyword Monitor, you can search from tweets posted within the last 30 days (excluding private tweets). Previously, only tweets posted after Keyword Monitor settings were applied could be retrieved.

Retrieve More Tweets​

With the Business Plan, you can retrieve up to 15,000 tweets per month. This can also be utilized for managing Contests where users are asked to tweet with specific Hashtags.

Important: About Retrieval Method​

With the new Keyword Monitor, you need to manually retrieve tweets.

You can retrieve tweets by clicking "Retrieve Latest Tweets" on the target Keyword Monitor page in your Inbox. You can select the number of tweets to retrieve in increments of 500 tweets.

• You can retrieve tweets within the limit of Retrieval times (described later).
• The function to notify new keywords via Slack, email, or push Notifications has been discontinued.
• You cannot retrieve tweets older than those already retrieved. If you wish to retrieve more past tweets, you can do so by Adding a new Keyword Monitor setting.

Retrieval Times Limit​

The number of times you can retrieve tweets varies by Plan.

Note 1: Regarding "Most Recent Month"​

Please note that this is not the number of times from the beginning to the end of the month.

Example: If the current time is "June 15, 2023 15:00", the remaining Retrieval times at that point will be calculated based on the Retrieval times from "May 16, 2023 15:00" to "June 15, 2023 15:00".

Note 2: Regarding How Retrieval Times are Counted​

The number of tweets that can be retrieved in one instance is 500, and you can increase or decrease the number of tweets to retrieve in increments of 500. (With the Business Plan, you can retrieve up to 15,000 tweets by consuming 30 Retrieval times).

Also, the number of Retrieval times consumed is determined by the actual number of tweets retrieved.

Example: If "Number of tweets to retrieve" is set to 1,500 tweets, and the actual search result is 700 tweets, the Retrieval times consumed will be 2.

About Future Keyword Monitor​

We plan to improve the Keyword Monitor to automatically retrieve tweets in the future. Additionally, we will enable real-time display of tweets that match keywords.

SocialDog Inc. has concluded an agreement with Twitter Inc. regarding the use of Twitter Enterprise API, a paid version of the Twitter API. The Keyword Monitor, which we have resumed providing, was developed using the Full Archive Search API, a feature of the Twitter Enterprise API. We will continue to develop features that fully leverage the capabilities of the Twitter Enterprise API to ensure your satisfaction.

As the Twitter API usage fees after the monetization are extremely high, we decided to significantly restrict the features of the Lite Plan (free plan) starting from May 16, 2023. However, upon scrutinizing Twitter API usage within SocialDog, it became clear that it would be difficult to keep within the Twitter API usage limits by restricting only the Lite Plan features. Therefore, we regret to inform you that we have decided to restrict some features for paid plans as well.

Going forward, to meet your expectations, we will utilize the Enterprise API, which will become newly available due to the Twitter API monetization, to provide even more sophisticated and stable services than ever before. Regarding the Keyword Monitor, which will be significantly restricted this time, we plan to rebuild it using the Enterprise API, and provide features to retrieve and notify Post in real-time, as well as the ability to search Post from the past 30 days.

• *1 "Data Acquisition" retrieves Post history, Follow/Followers, and @tweets. In addition to data acquisition from Twitter performed automatically on the server, it includes the data acquisition feature that can be manually performed from the arrow button (Get latest data from Twitter) in the upper left corner of the SocialDog screen.
• *2 "Sent Follow Request Display" is a feature in the Followers Management function that indicates whether a Follow request has been sent to a private Account. Follow requests can still be made in the future.
• *3 "RSS Auto post Monthly Post Limit" refers to the maximum number of tweets that can be posted via RSS Auto post in the most recent month (Updated June 8, 2023). This is a newly Added restriction. If the "RSS Auto post Monthly Post Limit" is reached, tweets exceeding the limit will not be posted.

About Temporarily Suspended Features (Updated June 13, 2023)​

Keyword Monitor​

Due to contractual issues with the Twitter API, the provision of Keyword Monitor will be temporarily suspended. However, Keyword Monitor will be rebuilt using the paid version of the Twitter API, Enterprise API (Full Archive Search), and will be released in the near future.

A. The Twitter API is a mechanism that allows external services to utilize Twitter data. Twitter announced its monetization in March 2023.

Q. What happens if I have already set up RSS Auto post?​

A. RSS Auto post that has been set up previously will continue to operate. However, if the number of tweets posted via RSS Auto post in one month exceeds the "RSS Auto post Monthly Post Limit," the RSS Auto post will cease to function.
