Background for Resuming X (Twitter) Feature Provision in the Free Plan

SocialDog aims to "create a world where everyone can utilize social media."

With the monetization of the X (Twitter) API in spring 2023, providing X (Twitter) features in the Free plan became challenging. However, we hold a strong conviction to support all individuals who wish to leverage social media, including independent creators and marketers.

Therefore, we decided to resume offering X (Twitter) features in the Free plan, aiming to assist users in utilizing SocialDog for social media management free of charge as much as possible.

Moving forward, we will continue to add new features and improve existing ones to further contribute to your social media marketing efforts.

We hope that the resumption of this Free plan will be a step towards further supporting individual creators and organizations. We appreciate your continued patronage.

Notice Regarding Feature Restrictions for Lite Plan (Free Plan) Due to Twitter API Monetization

We have partially resumed X (Twitter) functionality for Free Plan users. For details, please refer to Free Plan now supports X (Twitter).

Regarding the feature limitations of paid plans, please refer to this announcement (Added 2023/5/19).

Please be informed that the scheduled posting feature for the Lite Plan (Free) will be discontinued. This will result in additional feature limitations for our users. We kindly ask you to review this information again (Added 2023/5/30).

Thank you for always using SocialDog.

We are writing to inform you that, due to the recent monetization of the Twitter API, we have decided to significantly limit the features available in SocialDog's Lite Plan (Free Plan).

We sincerely apologize for this sudden announcement to all our users.

At SocialDog, under our product mission of "creating a world where everyone can be a protagonist," we have previously provided many features to Lite Plan users. However, the cost of using the Twitter API after its monetization has become prohibitively expensive, making it difficult to continue providing the same level of functionality to Lite Plan users. Therefore, although this was a difficult decision, we have chosen to significantly limit the features of the Lite Plan.

We thank you for using SocialDog's follower management and keyword monitoring features until now.

Customers who wish to continue using the features that are being discontinued in the Lite Plan are encouraged to consider a paid plan.

Issue with linking X (Twitter) accounts

· 5 min read

Thank you for always using SocialDog, the X (formerly Twitter) account management tool.

Currently, due to an issue on the X platform, users who are already logged into X may experience difficulties setting up their SNS profiles when attempting to "Add SNS Profile" in SocialDog.

If your X account is suspended, you will not be able to link it. Please try linking your account again after it has been unsuspended.

If you encounter the message "This SNS account is already linked to another team" and are unable to link your X account, please refer to This SNS account is already linked to another team and cannot be linked to X.

If you see the message "This api.twitter.com page could not be found" and the following screen, a 1-hour lock will be applied, preventing SNS account linking during that period. Please try linking your account again after 1 hour.

  • Cause: When you repeatedly fail authentication by entering incorrect email address or password on the X authentication screen, X will impose a lock on your account.

Therefore, please try the following steps.

  1. Open your browser's "incognito mode." The method for using "incognito mode" varies depending on your browser. For details, please refer to your browser's help documentation.
  2. Log in to the X account you wish to link on the official X website.
  3. Log in to SocialDog and click Add SNS Account. The X authentication screen will then appear.
  4. Click "Authorize app."
  5. Exit incognito mode, then reopen SocialDog and reload the page.

* If you are unable to link your account using the above steps in your current browser, please try linking your account using the same steps in a different browser.

If the above steps do not resolve the issue, please contact us via the inquiry form with the following information, and we will investigate.

  • The name of the SNS account you attempted to link
  • A screenshot or video of the screen displayed after clicking the link button and logging in
  • The browser used to attempt SNS account linking
  • The version of the browser used to attempt SNS account linking

The method for checking "Browser version" varies depending on your browser. For details, please refer to your browser's help documentation.

New Plan Launch Announcement (November 2023)

· 6 min read

Thank you for your continued use of SocialDog.

We are pleased to announce that SocialDog will be releasing new pricing plans on Monday, November 27, 2023.

To further enhance our product and contribute to your social media marketing efforts, we have decided to release new pricing plans in light of the paid X (Twitter) API and our expansion to support social media platforms other than X (Twitter).

With the new pricing plans, you can more easily manage not only your X (Twitter) accounts but also your Instagram accounts and Facebook Pages all together within SocialDog.

Hereafter, the pricing plans currently offered will be referred to as "Legacy Plans," and the new pricing plans as "New Plans."

  • The release of New Plans is scheduled for November 27, 2023. After the New Plans are released, new subscriptions and plan changes for paid plans will be to the New Plans.
  • For customers currently using Legacy Plans, migration to New Plans will begin from your billing date in late January 2024 or later. Further details regarding the migration to New Plans will be communicated via email by mid-December.
  • If you are on a monthly payment Legacy Plan, changing to an annual payment plan by November 26, 2023, will allow you to continue using your Legacy Plan at its current rate for one year after the change to annual payment.

For the background behind the release of the new pricing plans, please see "Background for New Plan Announcement" below.

About New Plans

Four Paid Plans Available

Starting November 27, 2023, SocialDog will offer four paid plans: Personal Plan, Professional Plan, Business Plan, and Enterprise Plan.

Pricing for Personal Plan, Professional Plan, Business Plan, and Enterprise Plan.

Pricing structure facilitating centralized management of multiple social media accounts

In the New Plans, the maximum number of linkable social media accounts is set per plan.

This makes it easier to centrally manage multiple social media accounts within SocialDog.

Under Legacy Plans, linking two social media accounts incurred charges for two accounts. With New Plans, you can link multiple social media accounts without additional charges.

Take this opportunity to link multiple social media accounts to SocialDog and utilize them effectively.

Please note that Personal and Professional Plans allow linking only one X (Twitter) account.

Easier management of multiple social media accounts. Comparison table of pricing and linkable social media accounts for Legacy and New Plans.

New Free Plan for Instagram and Facebook Management

A new Free Plan will be introduced for easy management of Instagram Business Accounts and Facebook Pages.

You can link up to two Instagram Business Accounts and Facebook Pages combined. You can also create up to 10 scheduled posts, and for Instagram Business Accounts, analyze follower counts and post engagement for the past two weeks.

If you wish to link an X (Twitter) account or view analytics data older than two weeks, please consider a paid plan.

Other Changes

  • Instagram Business Accounts and Facebook Pages will be counted towards the total number of social media accounts linked to your team, similar to X (Twitter) accounts. Available Instagram and Facebook-related features vary by plan.
  • The New Personal Plan has a maximum of "30" scheduled posts, which is the total limit for scheduled posts and drafts across all social media accounts linked to your team.
  • The New Business Plan, like the Legacy Business Plan, includes "Post Reactions." However, the New Business Plan only retrieves data for users who have reposted (retweeted).
  • If you wish to retrieve data for users who have liked, replied to, or created quote posts (quote tweets), please use the New Enterprise Plan.

Other changes also apply. For details, please see "Full Feature List".

[Important] Transition Schedule to New Plans

The transition to New Plans will follow the schedule below:

  • November 27, 2023: New subscriptions to Legacy Plans will be discontinued, and new subscriptions to New Plans will become available. Additionally, Instagram and Facebook-related features will be officially released and available exclusively with New Plans.
    • After this date, new subscriptions and plan changes for paid plans will be to the New Plans.
    • If you wish to continue using Instagram and Facebook-related features, please subscribe to a New Plan.
    • Customers on the Lite Plan (Free Plan) will be migrated to the New Free Plan on November 27.
  • By mid-December 2023: We will send an email to customers using Legacy Plans with detailed information about the automatic migration to New Plans.
    • We will contact you at least one month before the automatic migration begins.
  • From late January 2024, on your billing date: You will be automatically migrated from your Legacy Plan to a New Plan.
    • From late January 2024, you can continue to use the features of your Legacy Plan until your billing date. The timing of the transition to New Plans will vary depending on your paid plan's billing date. Detailed information about the automatic migration to New Plans will be sent via email by mid-December.

The target plan for migration is generally as follows: Lite+ Plan (including Legacy Pro Plan (2016) and Legacy Pro Plan (2017)) to Personal Plan, Pro Plan to Professional Plan, and Business Plan to Business Plan. However, this may vary depending on factors such as the maximum number of social media accounts. Further details will be announced via email by mid-December.

Background for New Plan Announcement

SocialDog is now entering a new stage.

We have aimed to expand SocialDog to support social media platforms beyond X (Twitter), evolving it into an "all-in-one platform for social media management."

Since its establishment in 2016, SocialDog has been provided as a service exclusively for X (Twitter). In line with this policy, we added support for Instagram and Facebook in September 2023.

Additionally, in the spring of 2023, the X (Twitter) API became a paid service. The X (Twitter) API is a mechanism that allows external services to securely retrieve and operate X (Twitter) posts and account information. By leveraging the API, SocialDog has provided over one million customers with essential X (Twitter) marketing features at a reasonable price. The increased cost of X (Twitter) API usage has made it challenging to continue providing services at current pricing.

Due to these circumstances, we are compelled to announce New Plans.

The New Plans will feature a pricing structure that makes it easier to centrally manage multiple social media accounts within SocialDog. Moving forward, we will continue to add new features and improve existing ones to further assist your social media marketing efforts.

We sincerely thank all our customers who have used SocialDog.

We will strive to make the transition to New Plans as smooth as possible and minimize any impact.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Success team via the SocialDog Contact Form.

We appreciate your continued patronage of SocialDog.

Full Feature List

Full feature list for new plans

The keyword monitor is new.

· 3 min read

Thank you for always using SocialDog.

Today, we have relaunched our Keyword Monitor service. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

The new Keyword Monitor allows you to retrieve tweets matching your keywords from the past 30 days (excluding private tweets).

  • Tweets are not retrieved automatically. You need to perform the operation manually when you wish to retrieve them.
  • The CSV file delivery service for Keyword Monitor will be discontinued. Going forward, you can download CSV files directly from the SocialDog screen.

Features

Search from the last 30 days of tweets

The new Keyword Monitor allows you to search through tweets from the past 30 days (excluding private tweets). Previously, you could only retrieve tweets posted after the keyword monitor was set up.

Ability to retrieve more tweets

With the Business Plan, you can retrieve up to 15,000 tweets per month. This can also be utilized for managing campaigns where users are asked to tweet with specific hashtags.

Important: How to Retrieve

With the new Keyword Monitor, you need to manually retrieve tweets.

![Retrieve Latest Tweets button on the Keyword Monitor screen](https://master--socialdog-help.netlify.app/static/2e9ef7d22f63445ddd5af67fb4c050da/c5bb3/new_keyword_monitor_retrieve_button_ja.png)

You can retrieve tweets by clicking "Retrieve Latest Tweets" on the Keyword Monitor page for the target keyword in your "Inbox". You can select the number of tweets to retrieve in increments of 500 tweets.

  • You can retrieve tweets within the retrieval limit (explained later).
  • The feature to notify new keywords via Slack, email, and push notifications has been discontinued.
  • You cannot retrieve tweets older than those already retrieved. To retrieve even older tweets, you need to add a new Keyword Monitor setting.

Retrieval Limits

The number of times you can retrieve tweets varies by plan.

  • Available Retrievals in the Last Month (Note 1) (Note 2)

    • Business Plan: 30 retrievals × Number of Social Profiles
    • Pro Plan: 10 retrievals × Number of Social Profiles

Note 1: Regarding "Last Month"

Please note that this is not the number of retrievals from the beginning to the end of the month.

Example: If the current time is "2023/6/15 15:00", the remaining number of retrievals at that point will be calculated based on the retrievals from "2023/5/16 15:00 to 2023/6/15 15:00".

Note 2: How Retrieval Counts Are Calculated

Each retrieval counts for 500 tweets, and you can increase or decrease the number of tweets to retrieve in increments of 500. (For the Business Plan, you can retrieve a maximum of 15,000 tweets by consuming 30 retrieval counts).

The number of retrieval counts consumed is determined by the actual number of tweets retrieved.

Example: If you set "Number of tweets to retrieve" to 1,500 tweets, and the actual search result is 700 tweets, the number of retrieval counts consumed will be 2.

Future of Keyword Monitor

We plan to improve the Keyword Monitor to automatically retrieve tweets in the future. We will also enable real-time display of tweets matching keywords.

      • SocialDog Inc. has concluded an agreement with X Corp. (formerly Twitter Inc.) for the use of Twitter Enterprise API, a paid version of the Twitter API. The keyword monitor, which has been relaunched, was developed using the Full Archive Search API, a feature of the Twitter Enterprise API. We will continue to develop features that fully leverage the capabilities of the Twitter Enterprise API to ensure your satisfaction.

We appreciate your continued support.

Announcement of Feature Restrictions for Paid Plans Following Twitter API Monetization

· 5 min read

For information regarding feature limitations of the Lite Plan (Free Plan), please refer to Previous Announcement.

We have decided to partially change the scope of feature limitations for Paid Plans from what was initially announced. As a result, users will experience additional feature limitations. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and kindly ask you to review them again (Added on May 30, 2023).

We have resumed providing Follower Management and Follower Analytics features (Added on June 8, 2023).

Thank you for always using SocialDog.

We would like to inform you that we have decided to limit some features available in SocialDog's Paid Plans, due to the monetization of the Twitter API.

We sincerely apologize for this sudden announcement to all our users.

Due to the extremely high cost of the Twitter API usage fees after its monetization, we decided to significantly restrict the features of the Lite Plan (Free Plan) starting May 16, 2023. However, upon a thorough review of SocialDog's Twitter API usage, it became clear that limiting features to the Lite Plan alone would not be sufficient to stay within the Twitter API usage limits. Therefore, we regret to inform you that we will also be limiting some features in our Paid Plans.

Moving forward, to meet your expectations, we will leverage the Enterprise API, which will become available through the Twitter API's monetization, to provide a more advanced and stable service than ever before. The Keyword Monitor, which is being significantly restricted this time, will be revamped into a system utilizing the Enterprise API. We plan to provide features for real-time post acquisition and notification, as well as the ability to search posts from the past 30 days.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.

The features available in Paid Plans will be changed as follows:
