Usage Examples

Here are some examples of how to use filters.

tip

Only Quick filters are available in the SocialDog app.

When you want to draw lots in Contests

Utilizing filters for AI-based automatic Account classification

You can exclude "bot Accounts," "adult Accounts," "advertising/promotional Accounts," and so on.

Items labeled "(beta)" are automatically determined and estimated by AI, which has been trained using SocialDog's unique algorithms. Since these are automatic determinations by machine, the results may sometimes be inaccurate.

Exclude users containing specific text

To exclude users whose name, description, or location contains specific keywords, set the following filter:

  • All text [does not contain]

When you want to increase Followers

Follow users who are likely to Follow back

Setting a filter like the following allows you to Follow only those who are likely to Follow back.

  • Follower/Following ratio or more: 0.7
  • Follower/Following ratio or less: 2
  • Inactive: No
  • Following: No
  • Follow request pending: No
  • Number of Following or more: 100
  • Number of posts or more: 100
  • Date followed: No record

Users who actively Follow back after being followed will have their number of Following approach their number of Followers.

Also, there's no point in Following people who aren't active, so exclude inactive individuals.

Exclude people who appear to have just started X (Twitter), with fewer than 100 Following and fewer than 100 posts.

Exclude people you have followed before.

When you want to increase your Follower/Following ratio

Unfollow users who were not recently followed (Non-followers, Inactive)

To keep your Following clean, it is effective to unfollow users who haven't followed back or who are not active.

You can unfollow users using the following features:

  • "Followers" → "Non-followers"
  • "Followers" → "Inactive"

People you recently followed might still follow you back. We recommend sorting by "Oldest first" and unfollowing from the oldest, or creating a filter like the following to avoid unfollowing users you have followed within the last week.

X (Twitter) rules prohibit mass unfollowing after following someone but not receiving a follow back, a practice known as "follow churn."

With the following settings, only people you followed before December 16, 2016 will be displayed.

  • Date followed or earlier: December 16, 2016

Additionally, among inactive users, those with many Followers may become active again, so it is also possible to add a filter like the following:

  • Number of Followers or less: 1000

Exclude bot Accounts

In the "bot (beta)" filter, you can specify whether to include or exclude bot Accounts.

  • Items labeled "(beta)" are automatically determined and estimated by AI, which has been trained using SocialDog's unique algorithms. Since these are automatic determinations by machine, the results may sometimes be inaccurate.

Exclude adult Accounts

In the "Adult" filter, you can specify the filter strength (how many adult posts there are).
